Michigan's System Transformation Grant Evaluation
Funding Source: MDCH Office of Long Term Care Supports and Services System Transformation Grant (STG)
Project Period: March 1, 2007 - September 30, 2010
Project Coordinator: Cheribeth Tan-Schriner, PhD, Chris Wojcik, MPH
MPHI-CDMTR is leading the evaluation of the MDCH Office of Long Term Care Supports and Services System Transformation Grant (STG). The STG evaluation will build on data collected in accordance with PA 634 and the ADRC grant, and it will be designed to measure the achievement of outcomes associated with specific project objectives and goals, as outlined in Michigans STG Strategic Plan. A multi-method approach using qualitative and quantitative methods will be used to evaluate the implementation and outcomes of this effort. Methods used will range from web-based surveys and telephone interviews to review of archival data and Medicaid claims data analysis.
MPHI-CDMTR's approach to the STG evaluation is participatory in nature. The evaluation team worked closely with the State, stakeholder groups, and consumers to develop the evaluation strategy. The stakeholder generated outcomes in the strategic plan provide the foundation for the evaluation, and a subgroup of stakeholders from the STG strategic planning process participated in a series of meetings with the evaluation team to specify evaluation outcomes and methods.
