Funding Source: Centers for Disease Control, Michigan Department of Community Health

Project Period: October 1, 2004 - April 1, 2007

Project Coordinator: Mary Zack Thompson, MBA

Working in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) and other project partners, MPHI-CDMTR has acted as the evaluation team for six MDCH Colorectal Cancer Section projects designed to reduce environmental and personal barriers to colorectal cancer screening in diverse communities across the state. The evaluation team developed and implemented evaluation plans, including methodological and instrument development, data collection, analysis, and reporting. In addition, evaluation team staff provided technical assistance to MDCH and grantee staff. This project has involved several distinct evaluation projects, employing diverse evaluation strategies. The purpose of the Colorectal Cancer Program Evaluation is to continue to gain insight into each program, to improve each program if necessary, to affect the programs, to affect the organizational participants, and to assess program effects (intervention outcomes) when feasible.
